Event Description: This event is design to educate, equip and support seniors and those caring for seniors with accurate information from sources they can trust. The topics covered in the conference are concerns and issues that our community has stated they need assistance with. Our goal is to bring healthcare professionals, businesses and resources together to be proactive in meeting the challenges that face our seniors. Topics include: * Veterans/Medicare/Choices Benefits * Levels of Care, Defining Home Health, Palliative, Hospice, Skilled and Non-Skilled * Senior Safety, Am I At RISK? * Legal Issues, What Lies Ahead for Me? * Communicating With My Doctors and Referrals * Caring for the CAREGIVER, Where Do I Go for HELP? * Preventing and Responding to a Stroke, The F.A.S.T. Method * Nutrition, Prescriptions, Community Resources: It Effects Everything Mayor Ernest Burgess will deliver opening remarks and welcome attendees. You can choose two breakout sessions on the above topics to attend. Each session last 30 minutes with a 10 minutes break in between. There will be a Q and A session at the end with a panel to address any feedback or questions that attendees have. A Resource Center is also provided where information can be accessed on additional topics and services. There is NO SELLING, NO EXCLUSIVITY, FREE and ALL ARE WELCOME!
