Event Description:
Our goal is to educate the community about local agriculture. Farmers will be there to share their knowledge of animals, crops, homegrown foods, handmade products, and more with parents and children. Admission is FREE and open to the public. We will be taking canned food donations for the Rutherford County Food bank at registration. This event, hosted by members and partners of the Rutherford County Agriculture Community, provides many hands-on activities to teach families about agriculture’s impact on our everyday lives. The first twenty-five teachers within Rutherford County, with a current teacher ID, to register will receive a $20 gift certificate from a local teacher’s store, along with coupons and other teaching resources. Adventures in Agriculture has something for everyone. Children can pick up a passport to have stamped as they pass through the adventure and receive a prize when completed. Children of all ages can play “My American Farm” in our tablet lab. Adventures in Agriculture will have live animal exhibits, food displays, gardening information, and more. FFA will be hosting a fishing rodeo. Adults and children alike will have the opportunity to learn heritage skills, such as butter making, spinning yarn, and more. Parents can talk with Master Gardeners and learn how to grow their own vegetables in a back yard or container garden, no matter how much (or how little) room you have. There will be plenty of games, food, and information. Don’t miss this FREE family fun day for all ages.
