Event Description: Pulse-pounding, heart-hammering excitement is on the way to Murfreesboro, TN when the Extreme Bull Riding & Barrel Racing National Finals come to the Tennessee Miller Coliseum. Friday & Saturday, Jan 25 & 26, 2013, doors open at 6:00 p.m., event starts at 7:30 p.m. The top 40 bull riders from across the country will be competing against some of the nation's rankest bulls as the Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association brings its 19th finals to Murfreesboro for its third big year. “These cowboys have competed in more than 400 events across the country to qualify for the finals. It's a lot of miles, a lot of broken bones and a lot of hard work to get to this level,” said Chan Canter, President of SEBRA. SEBRA Extreme Bull Riding, known as the Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association, is the largest association of its kind in North America, sanctioning more than 400 events yearly from coast to coast and paying out more than half-a-million dollars in cash and awards in a season. “While you may not see us on television, we sanction more events than any other association in North America, providing the best opportunity for bull riders to make it to the PBR level of the sport. There is no overall organization like Major League Baseball or the National Hockey League to rank us so unofficially, we are the semi-pro association that helps raise up the next generation of PBR riders, like JB Mauney, who cut his teeth at SEBRA events,” said Canter. At the finals, more than $60,000 in cash and prizes is up for grabs as well as coveted buckles for season and finals champions. And adding to the adrenaline are the country's top 20 barrel racers who will also be competing for a national title. “This is a big deal and we're excited to be bringing it to Murfreesboro for a third year,” said Canter. To help families take part in the fun, Friday night has been designated Kids Night with a special $5 admission ticket for children 10 and under, while on both nights children five and under get in free. Friday night will feature a special Kids Corral with a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting and more and a portion of the proceeds from the evening will go toward The Exchange Club, a non-profit child abuse prevention center. “We want families to be able to afford and experience the excitement of an event of this caliber,”said Canter of the special Friday night pricing. Adult tickets both nights are just $12 in advance or $15 at the door with special Reserved seating available for $18 in advance and $20 at the door.
