MTSU Chili Cook-off at Stones River Mall

Event Description: Celebrate MTSU Homecoming week at Stones River Mall from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, for its annual Chili Cook-off. Student organizations, alumni and friends of the university will compete to win the ever-coveted “Lighting’s Ladle” and “Best Chili” awards. The tastiest concoctions take home the prize. “This community event is the perfect way to kick off fall!” says Melinda Hudgins Noblitt, marketing manager for Stones River Mall. “We invite everyone out to the event for food, fellowship and fun -- it’s the perfect combination for a wonderful evening of True Blue spirit!” The event will be held in the outdoor shopping area of the Mall, between Sam’s Sports Grill and Dillard’s. “Visit your favorite shops while you’re here,” adds Noblitt. “Our retailers are constantly adding more fall styles to keep you fashionable as cooler weather approaches.” For a cost of $5, available at the gate, attendees will receive unlimited chili samples and vote for their favorites. Stones River Mall will also offer a variety of giveaways, including His & Hers MTSU fleece hoodie and pant from Finish Line and gift cards from Mall retailers. Inflatables will also be available for children.
