Event Description: The Alzheimer's Foundation of America introduced National Commemorative Candle Lighting (NCCL) in November 2003 and holds the event each November in recognition of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month to remember and honor individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. This year on Friday, November 15th, Mindful Care Adult Day Services will host a Candle Lighting event at their program location at New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. This event is open to the public; candles will be provided. Our goals are to: Remember individuals who have passed away as a result of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias * Honor the as many as 5.1 million Americans who are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease * Pay tribute to family caregivers who valiantly care for their loved ones * Raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, including the importance of early detection * Highlight the availability of support services in local communities * Emphasize the need to share the care related to this disease
