Event Description: Local Non Profit Carpe Artista announces THE BATTLE, a Rock Concert Extravaganza scheduled for Sunday, March 20th from 6:30 to 8:30PM. Billed as a Rock Showdown, THE BATTLE is part Rock Concert, fund-raiser and American Idol meets the X-Factor. In addition to food, vendors and multiple rock acts, the concert also features audience voting and judging to pick a the 2016 Champion Band for Carpe Artista’s Jukebox Hero Adult Rock Band Experience which began in early February. Jukebox Hero participants, all of whom have little to no experience as rockers, were placed into two bands when they met on the first night of the program. They have since rehearsed on Tuesday nights under the guidance of an all-star instructor team. Each band has chosen songs, worked on their instruments and practiced their show. They’ve also been responsible for generating interest in their band and THE BATTLE on Social Media. “We do everything we can to create a real rock band experience” said Carpe Artista Founder and CEO, Ron Alley. “That includes the business side of marketing and promotion in addition to music and performance coaching. This is our fourth annual Jukebox Hero and I’m most excited this year about our instructor team that includes players and singers who have worked with Blake Shelton, The Outlaws, Shania Twain, Christopher Cross, and many, many, more. THE BATTLE show will feature performances from the instructor team, too. It will be a rockin’ night!” COO Susan Gulley adds, “not only is the concert a fun night out for the entire community, it’s also one of Carpe Artista’s primary fund raising events. People can come and experience one of the biggest rock shows in Middle Tennessee and support arts lessons and camps for the kids of Smyrna and North Rutherford County.” Carpe Artista is a 501c3 non-profit that promotes positive culture by building students and arts communities. It’s longterm mission is to transform culture globally by developing local arts communities and creatives to reach their full potential in character, calling, craft and community. Their Jukebox Hero Adult Rock Band Experience and THE BATTLE are just two ways they encourage “all kinds of arts for all kinds of kids” – even older kids who want to still be Rock Stars. THE BATTLE will be held on Sunday, March 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at 506 Legacy Dr. Smyrna, TN 37167 at the event’s venue sponsor, Lifepoint. Tickets are $9.00 in advance for adults ($10.00 at the door) and $6.00 in advance for students under 17 ($7.00 at the door). Children 5 and under are admitted free.
