Event Description: Burris, Thompson & Associates is offering two half-day HR workshops (attend one or both): Doing More with Less - The Role of Competencies 8:30AM – 12PM This fast paced introductory-to-intermediate level course will help participants determine if competency based talent management is appropriate for their organizations. Participants will explore talent management applications of competencies, with focus on application of competencies in building employee classifications and career paths within job families, planning employee training, creating individual employee development plans, and developing competency based pay programs. Workshop Leader: Steve Thompson - Burris, Thompson & Associates Compiling, Analyzing, Interpreting, and Presenting Compensation Data 1PM – 5 PM This basic course focuses on general quantitative concepts, basic statistical tools, linear and multiple regression analysis, and cost impact analysis using MS Excel Spreadsheet technology, including how to prepare and present results to management to support recommended solutions to problems or situations. Pre-prepared data takes the participant step-by-step through the process from raw survey data to the final recommendation. Participants will need a notebook/laptop computer with capability of completing large complex worksheets. It will likely need adequate memory, CD ROM, USB Hub Ports, and standard internal hard drive storage with Microsoft Excel 2007 minimum.
