Event Description: StoneCrest Medical Center will provide a free Medicare plan seminar and a variety of free health screenings on Thursday, October 13th. Attendees may choose to attend either at 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. This year, open enrollment for Medicare plans begins early on October 15 and runs through December 7, 2011. Medicare now provides a free yearly wellness visit, including personalized prevention plan services. TriStar Medical Group will be scheduling appointments for the wellness visits during the event and Dr. Rozmond Lewis will be on site to answer questions related to the wellness visit. The visit is covered by original Medicare (Part B) and some of the Medicare Advantage Plans. Donna Smith, director of support services, will provide information and answers to questions on the 2012 plan changes. This seminar will be beneficial for Medicare beneficiaries, individuals nearing the age of eligibility, professionals in the field of aging services, and family members and care givers.
