Event Description: The Battle of Stones River began on the last day of 1862 and was one of the bloodiest conflicts of the Civil War. The battle produced important military and political gains for the Union, and it changed forever the people who lived and fought there. The Stones River Battlefield is now marked by a brand-new entrance that will allow vistors more convenient access to this historic site.


Directions:
I-24 to Exit 76 (Medical Ctr. Pkwy.) Left on Medical Center, Left on Thompson Ln. New entrance located on left of Thompson Ln. across the street from New Vision Baptist Church.
